There’s something special happening in Forsyth County. It’s not flashy. It’s not loud. But it’s real—and it’s changing lives. Transformation begins in the local community. That’s why we’re committed to being one of the Christian nonprofits near you that shows up, serves consistently, and reflects the love of Christ right here in North Georgia.
Our neighbors are facing real challenges. Families are working hard but still coming up short. Children are going to bed hungry. Parents are carrying the weight of medical bills, job loss, and housing instability. But in the midst of it all, there is hope. And that hope comes alive when the Body of Christ steps up to meet real needs with real love.
Meeting Needs with Compassion
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Every family we meet has a different story, a different set of challenges, and a different path to healing. What they all have in common is the need for dignity, care, and support.
That’s why we do more than just deliver food—we offer a listening ear, practical resources, and consistent follow-up. Every bag of groceries, every check-in call, every prayer—it’s all part of the mission to walk alongside people as they move toward stability and restoration.

A Local Mission with Eternal Impact
It might be easy to assume that nonprofit work is best left to the big names and national organizations. But the truth is, some of the most impactful work happens right in your own backyard. Local ministries know the streets, the schools, and the stories. We know the neighborhoods where support is needed most. We build relationships, not just rosters.
At Ministries of Grace, we’re not just serving Forsyth County—we’re a part of it. We live here, worship here, and raise our families here. This isn’t a job for us. It’s a calling.
Real Families, Real Stories
Take the story of the Johnson family. A family that once had everything together—a home, a garden, thriving careers—until the unimaginable happened. Mike, the father, collapsed suddenly and was later diagnosed with a rare neurological condition. Overnight, their lives turned upside down.
As medical bills piled up and Sarah, the mother, struggled to care for her husband and kids, food insecurity quickly became a reality. They tried everything—from selling vegetables out of their garden to foraging for wild mushrooms—before a school counselor connected them with our team. Through God’s provision and the compassion of local volunteers, this family now receives the consistent help they need to move forward.

Now let’s talk about Heather.
If you met Heather today, you’d see a resilient, hardworking woman who’s raising two kids and managing a team at her local Target. But her journey didn’t start that way. A year ago, Heather was struggling through the darkest season of her life. After losing her husband Mark in a tragic car accident, she fell into a deep depression. Most days, she couldn’t get out of bed. Her children, Joey (2) and Robin (6), spent their days watching TV beside her, unsure of what the future held.
When Robin stopped showing up for school regularly, school officials became concerned. That concern led to a referral to Meals by Grace. And through Ministries of Grace, Heather was connected to a licensed clinical social worker who helped her begin the long road to healing.
Step by step, with emotional support, counseling, and practical guidance, Heather began to re-engage with life. She practiced job interview skills with a MOG trainer, built up her confidence, and eventually landed a job at Target. When she faced another obstacle—figuring out childcare for little Joey—her MOG social worker stepped in again, helping her secure an affordable childcare option.
Today, Heather is thriving as an assistant manager. Her kids are flourishing. And it’s all because someone stepped in to care not just about what was in her pantry, but about her heart, her healing, and her future.
That’s what wholistic care looks like. That’s what local Christian nonprofits in Forsyth County are all about.
