How Ministries of Grace Is Transforming Lives in Dawson County

Faith-Based Poverty Relief in Cumming, GA

We believe that food alone isn’t enough to break the cycle of poverty. True transformation happens when people are equipped with the tools, confidence, and support they need to build a stable and thriving life. That’s the heart behind the Grace Works Training Center in North Georgia—a space where faith and practical training come together to create lasting change.

Whether someone is rebuilding after crisis, seeking a fresh start, or simply needs support to reach the next step, the Grace Works Training Center meets them where they are. Here, participants are treated with dignity, loved like family, and empowered to grow.

Why Grace Works Exists

Poverty is about more than a lack of income. It can stem from broken systems, lack of opportunity, and generational barriers that prevent people from moving forward. That’s why the Grace Works Training Center was established—to bridge the gap between survival and stability.

Rooted in our mission to serve others in the love of Christ, the center is more than just a classroom. It’s a ministry hub where participants develop essential life and career skills while being encouraged every step of the way.

A Faith-Based Approach to Training

Everything we do at Grace Works is guided by faith. We believe in the inherent worth and God-given potential of every person who walks through our doors. This belief shapes not only what we teach, but how we teach it.

Our trainers and volunteers pray with students, encourage them through their struggles, and speak truth and value into their lives. And as Scripture says in Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”

Skills That Lead to Stability

The Grace Works Training Center offers a range of classes designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and confidence to move forward. Courses and coaching sessions include:

  • Time Management: Learning to balance responsibilities and structure daily life.
  • Job Readiness: Resume writing, interview practice, and workplace expectations.
  • Communication Skills: Building confidence in conversations, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
  • Financial Literacy: Budgeting, saving, managing debt, and setting financial goals.
  • Personal Development: Confidence building, goal setting, and mental wellness strategies.
  • Parenting & Family Dynamics: Tools to strengthen families and improve household health.

Each session is intentionally crafted to address the real challenges individuals face while offering the encouragement and guidance needed to grow.

Community Support That Makes a Difference

Participants in the Grace Works program don’t walk alone. They are surrounded by a network of social workers, mentors, volunteers, and community leaders who genuinely care. The relationships built in this space are often just as transformative as the lessons themselves.

Our model isn’t just about learning—it’s about becoming. And it’s about doing it together.

Transformation We Can See

Graduates from the Grace Works Training Center have gone on to secure stable jobs, move into long-term housing, and regain a sense of confidence and purpose. They leave with more than just skills—they leave with hope.

Because when faith meets opportunity, lives change.
